Pooja Mehta
Pooja Mehta joined the Board in 2016 and currently chairs the Governance Committee. She is deeply committed to racial and economic justice, especially compassionate criminal justice reform. She has worked as an investment banking analyst, represented children and families involved with the child welfare system in the District of Columbia as a lawyer with the Children’s Law Center, organized entrepreneurship and financial management cohorts for small business leaders, owned and operated full service and fast casual restaurants, and served as a special advisor to a workforce development non-profit. Most recently, Pooja founded The Marigold Effect to advise and invest in female- and minority-owned businesses and nonprofits. She founded the firm based on the principles that entrepreneurship and home ownership can build generational wealth and that mission-driven organizations can uplift communities. Pooja is a graduate of Boston College and American University Washington College of Law.
