Gabby Frieser Joins the Open City Advocates Team

Open City Advocates is excited to announce that Gabby Frieser has joined us as a Legal Fellow representing youth committed to the DC Department of Youth Rehabilitation Services. A graduate of Harvard Law School, she joins Open City Advocates from Reprieve US here in Washington, DC, where she was a Death Penalty Fellow. Gabby will expand our practice of representing clients committed to DYRS.

According to OCA’s Supervising Attorney, Raymond Ngu, “Gabby is a passionate attorney who is going to expand our ability to support clients and help us identify new strategic areas for litigation. She will be an excellent advocate for young people! Gabby’s addition to our team will be instrumental in OCA moving into the next phase of both our holistic and systemic advocacy.”

“I am very excited to join the team at Open City Advocates! They have a novel approach to juvenile defense and a high standard for advocacy,” Gabby said. “Incarceration is incredibly damaging for a young person’s development and affects every area of their life. Involvement with the juvenile justice system is one of the worst things that can happen to a youth who is already struggling. It’s important to me that we’ll be fighting against injustice one human at a time.”
